About This Event
The one-mile, chip-timed runs down Western Avenue at 11:30 am, a half hour before the South Side Irish Parade begins.
Registration is $25. Online registration is open through March 12. You may also register on race day between 10 and 11 am IF our cap of 500 runners has not yet been reached.
The Emerald Isle Run is a fun event, but it’s also a fundraiser to support the South Side Irish Parade. A portion of the proceeds are donated to offset parade costs. For more details about the parade, visit the South Side Irish Parade website.

Location
The race starts and finishes at 104th and Western Avenue.

Awards
Top female and male participants will receive prizes. The top male and female finisher in each age category will receive a race medal. (9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & above). $50.00 will be given to the runner that breaks the course record of 4:32.
Parking
Due to spectators arriving for the race and parade, parking throughout the surrounding neighborhood will be limited. Please consider carpooling, taking public transportation, bicycle or walk.
Timing and Water Stations
The Emerald Isle Mile chip timed race. The timing tag is on the back of the race bib under a foam backer. Split times will be called out at the half mile with a clock positioned at the finish. Water will be available at the finish of the race. Water tables will NOT be available during the race.
Safety
For safety reasons, strollers, bikes, skates and pets are NOT permitted on the course. You must be able to complete the mile within the allotted 15 minutes. If you are unable to complete it, you will be escorted off the course..
