The Running for Hope Association is hosting their 10th annual 5K walk/run on the Sunday, June 4 to benefit pediatric cancer patients at Advocate Children’s Hospital. The event will also include a kids’ dash and a wheelchair event at Keeler Park in Oak Lawn.
Half of the proceeds raised from this event will benefit the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Division at Advocate Children’s Hospital, which is one of the largest and most respected programs of its kind in the Midwest. The remaining funds will go to the Ronald McDonald House® near Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn. The House offers a place for families to stay together near their children who are receiving hospital treatment. The Ronald McDonald House® in Oak Lawn has provided more than 40,000 family nights of care to families since it opened in 2008.
Running for Hope has raised more than $800,000 for the hospital and the House through this fundraising event. This year, organizers hope to top the $1 million mark.
