Running Excels Community Project Feb. 16: Lunches for the Lower Wacker Mission

two helping hands form a heart shape

A new year brings fresh opportunities to give back to our community and help others in need. Join Bev on Friday, February 16, for a Running Excels Community Project as we pack 180 lunches for the Lower Wacker Mission.

How can you help? By donating items for the lunches, stopping in to help pack the food from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, or both! Our online signup sheet makes it easy to volunteer.

The Mission serves homeless men and women who sleep under Lower Wacker Drive. The Mission has been providing lunches, hot coffee, blankets, clothing and items for personal needs every Saturday morning for over 10 years. A large network of volunteers (including us!) make the lunches each week, and then a separate group distributes them.

The people served are mostly men. Many have drug and alcohol addictions and mental health issues. Most of these people are at the lowest points in their lives and have no means for food or support.

Your generous donation of time and materials are truly appreciated, and they are what make our community so special. Thank you for your support!
